TAM measures revenue. TAL measures human life-years reachable. One framework, cross-cutting across Earth + Space + Home + Location. Two closed loops. ∞ reach. Do the opposite.
Every business school teaches TAM — Total Addressable Market. Revenue × population × penetration × time. The number that fits investor decks. It does not move sovereign capital, multilateral regulators, UN treaty negotiators, insurance actuarial models, or the people whose life-years are at stake. TAM was built for a world where the metric and the impact diverged. They no longer can.
TAL — Total Addressable Lives — is the inversion. Same denominator (global population), same time horizon, but the numerator is human life-years (DALYs) reachable through closed-loop infrastructure rather than dollars extractable. TAL is non-rival across population. TAM measures what you can take. TAL measures what you can give back.
THE WHOLE THING runs across four time integrations on two closed loops. Earth + Space are both Project Kontrast — one closed loop spanning ground, air, sea, and orbit. Home + Location are Project Infinity + Project Institute — one closed loop spanning the per-body stack and the civic grid, surfaced through The Real Room.
Every project under THE WHOLE THING publishes its own TAL ticker, its own KSMs, and its own methodology — all anchored to the same v0.2 framework. Open peer review, CC BY 4.0, sourced.
11:11™ is THE WHOLE THING's trademark for universal Earth coverage — the assertion that every life, every county, every home, every body between the north and south pole is inside the loop. Cross-cutting across Kontrast (Earth + Space), Infinity (Home), Institute (Location). Pole-to-pole. Universal. Every one of the ∞.
TAM measures revenue. TAL measures human life-years reachable. Do the opposite. Total Addressable Lives — ∞.
